MANILA, Philippines —Eight motorcycle riders were injured in a traffic mishap triggered by an out of control sports utility vehicle (SUV) in Manila Monday morning, according to Manila Police District (MPD).
The SUV driven by Neil Aries Villamor was traveling eastward along United Nations Ave. in Ermita, the MPD reported.

“Upon reaching a certain point near corner Taft Ave. the driver claimed that he lost control of his driven vehicle,” the MPD said in a statement.
The left side portion of the SUV hit and sideswiped the concrete center island and collided with the motorcycles, a pickup truck and a tricycle.
The MPD said Villamor’s case will be referred to the City Prosecutor Office of Manila.
