Alfy Yan is following in the footsteps of his uncle, the late actor Rico Yan, as he  entered show business and is now part of Viva Artists Agency.

The talent management company announced this through its Instagram page on Friday, Dec. 6.

“Carrying on the legacy! Alfy Yan, nephew of the late Rico Yan, is now part of Viva Artists Agency!” it said.

The company will officially welcome Alfy on Dec. 10 at a press conference that will be livestreamed on its Facebook page.

Claudine Barretto, Rico’s ex-girlfriend and former love-team partner, also announced Alfy’s venture into show biz through her Instagram page.

“I am so proud to announce that another Yan will be part of this industry. Like his Uncle Rico, Alfy will be changing and touching lives, and will continue the Yan legacy,” the actress said.

“We are so proud of you, Alfy!” she added.

Barretto also regarded Alfy’s showbiz debut as a Christmas gift to her and Rico’s fans.

Alfy is the son of Rico’s sister, Geraldine. Further details on Alfy’s upcoming projects have yet to be revealed as of this writing.

Meanwhile, Rico was best known for his roles in the hit films “Mula sa Puso,” “Got 2 Believe” and “Dahil Mahal na Mahal Kita.” He died of cardiac arrest due to acute hemorrhagic pancreatitis in 2002. He was 27.
